Mark 9:42-49

Mark 9:42-49

Jesus is saying it would be better to go through life maimed than to be thrown into hell.

Many people do not want to acknowledge the existence of a literal hell.

To eliminate hell in your thinking you would have to…

• Throw away your Bible. (Revelation 20:15, Revelation 21:8)

• Ignore the words of Jesus. (Mark 9:45, Matt. 13:42, Luke 16:23-24, Matt. 10:28)

• Avoid “RADICAL” Christians.

• Never Die. (Hebrews 9:27, Psalm 90:10)

The truth about hell is not a relative truth. It is an absolute truth.

“Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” (Matthew 7:13)

Three Roadblocks to hell God has put in place:

  1. Gods Will (2 Peter 3:9, Matthew 25:41)
  2. The Witness of Concerned Christians (Acts 17:30-31, Luke 16)
  3. The Cross of Christ (Isaiah 53:6)

We may be dealing with a hard saying of Jesus, but Jesus is telling us exactly what we need to hear.

We need to take radical action against sin in our lives.

We need to take radical action to share the salvation of Jesus Christ with others.
