Galatians 5

Are you a patient person?

Four Ways that We Can Test our Patience:

1. INTERRUPTIONS

(Matthew 19:13-14, Mark 10:46-52, Mark 5:21-34)

What does God want to do “On the Way”?

2. INCONVENIENCE

(Luke 10:40)

Serving God is often inconvenient.

3. IRRITATIONS

(Numbers 20:10-11)

4. INACTIVITY

(Job 14:14)

It is a lack of peace that causes impatience.

How do we Position Ourselves to Allow the Holy Spirit to Produce Patience in our Lives?

1. Get a New Perspective

(Proverbs 4:5, Proverbs 20:24)

The root of impatience is selfishness.

Three Important Insights to Remember: a. I am only human; I am not God. b. No one is perfect, not even me. c. God is in control; He uses every situation to make me better.

2. Have a Sense of Humor

(Proverbs 15:13, Proverbs 17:22)

3. Deepen Your Love

(1 Corinthians 13:4, Ephesians 4:1-2)

When I am impatient, I am being unloving.

4. Depend on the LORD

(Psalm 37:7, Psalm 37:3-5, 2 Peter 3:9)

Patience is not a matter of human willpower; it is the fruit of the Spirit.

Patience is a form of faith.

God is patient; we should be patient too.
